Introduction

As well as being the capital city of New South Wales, Sydney is a great tourist destination because it has so much to offer the visitor. Sometimes as locals, we forget about the many advantages of living in such a vibrant city. Here is an opportunity to explore your own city, its past and present.

Your family has offered to billet a family of 4, from overseas, for ONE week.

Your task

Your task is to design a 3 day sightseeing program for this family. You will need to include something about historical Sydney, as well as today's attractions. This holiday program is to be sent by email or post, to your visiting family, so that they will have some idea of what will be happening once they arrive.

It will need to include information about:

• Sydney in general, past and present
• some of the tourist attractions
• a timetable of events you have planned
• pictures or photographs of places your visitors will be seeing

Your presentation

Your program for the visitors will include:

• the location of Sydney on a map of Australia
• a physical description of the city showing why it is such an attractive place to visit
• what the weather will be like at that time of the year
• where they will be staying include a map and perhaps a photograph of your family and or house
• timetable of events you have arranged
• a description of at least 4 major attractions you intend to visit

Step 1

Use a folder to collect all of your information

Print from the Internet sites and put then into the folder

Make notes from books and Internet sites

Collect pictures, timetables and brochures from travel agents, put these into your folder too.

Now you should be ready to put it together into a website, email attachment or booklet. Use the same headings you used to sort your information.
