Subject: [EdForum] Online music initiative
Hello all,
Here's a recent initiative which, from my somewhat older, and 'been there, heard that' perspective, seems quite exciting .. especially for our students.
How about a free Internet music-recording-studio: www.rocketnetwork.com
This site, and free software, allows musicians from around the world to work together in non-simultaneous musical collaborations in online virtual studios.
For example, someone lays down a guitar track, and then others build upon this track with bass, keyboards, voice etc to create a finished musical piece by musicians, including your school's music-students, whom have never met.
I think the idea has fantastic potential for school music faculties and students.
